Bentley Prince Street

Bentley Prince Street, the leading manufacturer of commercial carpeting in the United States, contracted Paradigm Shift to re-invent their sales meeting and give it a highly interactive, entertaining twist. The goal was to create an environment that would motivate the international sales staff to look at the new carpet line, “L.A. Story,” as an exciting, revolutionary product for their customers. 

With this in mind, Paradigm Shift took the rather mundane practice of looking at carpet samples on the floor and in books in a series of hotel breakout rooms and turned it on its ear. A nearby club was transformed into a “carpet art gallery,” featuring over 30 framed pieces of the new line hanging on the walls, separated into three design inspiration sub-categories of “art,” “culture” and “fashion.” Paradigm directed Bentley Prince Street to create a 140’ long patchwork “arrival carpet,” utilizing some of their best product to set the tone. Custom gobos, featuring BPS and sponsor logos lined the walls behind the giant carpet arrival.

Once inside the venue, guests were treated to a live “art walk” with BPS executives, as the sales staff viewed and touched the new designs framed on the walls. A series of lounge seating areas featured custom BPS area rugs to highlight additional looks and custom coffee tables with imbedded plasma screens played the film L.A. STORY, featuring Steve Martin and Sarah Jessica Parker, to drive the theme home. A series of plasma screens were featured throughout the space, showing a clip montage of design inspirations for the new line. Following the art walk, the DJ cranked up the music and the sales force bonded as they danced well into the night.
