Paradigm Shift was contracted by the Hollywood Reporter to design and execute the publication’s first ever Oscar Nominee Party for film talent in the running for filmed entertainment’s highest honor, the Academy Award.

 Held the week prior to the Academy Awards, the event was held on the grounds of The Getty House, home of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Paradigm erected a series of tents on the grounds and created a series of decks within the structures for even flooring. The tent interior featured a chic Mexican garden party feel, utilizing a series of dark wood cabanas with sophisticated leather furnishings to create lounge-like seating areas for guests. Large trees, flowering shrubs and tailored hedges were brought into the environment to drive the garden party feel. To add drama in the ceiling, Paradigm brought in spectacular wrought iron chandeliers from a local Mexican importer, Arte de Mexico. Beautiful dark wood square and rectangular tables provided additional seating for guests at various heights throughout the party, adding visual interest. Custom lighting and gobos rounded out the look and feel of the “casually elegant” affair.

The event, attended by entertainment luminaries including Jeremy Renner, Morgan Freeman, Eli Roth, Mel Gibson, Eva Longoria, Nia Vardalos, Ryan Seacrest, Richard Kind, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Marlee Matlin and Michelle Rodriguez, included a series of live entertainment acts and catering by Patina and was sponsored by Bing, L’Oreal of Paris and the State of Veracruz, Mexico.
